Rally on the Rift Tour
You’re invited on this Idaho bikepacking adventure ride through Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve to celebrate the Great Rift Dirt Tour becoming a Bikepacking Roots Community Route!
Everyone is welcome! However, the remoteness of the region and long stretches without water, make this an advanced route.
Self-supported riding and navigation skills are necessary to complete the full loop.
This ride is intended to introduce folks like you to a region that hasn’t seen many bikepackers. While the route is challenging, bringing folks together can make it more fun and enjoyable knowing others are out there overcoming the same things you are!
Many rides and events often end with a lackluster finish – with no one to congratulate, greet, welcome, and high-five you at the end.
Out in the Great Rift Backcountry, you’re likely to spend a lot of time in solitude. How great would it be to enjoy the company of others and share in the stories of the past 5 days at the finish? This is the goal!
Solitude is expected in this wild place. At times we’ll spread a part and other times some may randomly link up riding the same pace. If you find yourself in the company of others, enjoy it.
Great Rift Tour Finish and Group Ride
Would you like to participate without the commitment of a 5-day epic ride? This option is for you!
Welcome in riders, hang out with good people, share in the vibes, sleep under the stars and ride bikes! What’s more to like?
On Saturday, welcome in the riders after they have spent 5 days bikepacking the wild landscape of the Great Rift and Craters of the Moon! Then hang out and listen to the stories from the trail with good food and cold beverages.
Camping is optional, but it’s a long trip home for most, so feel free to stay and pitch a tent with us!
On Sunday, we’ll leave from Kings Bowl around 9 or 10 AM for a chill, unloaded group ride. Bring water, snacks, & repair kit.
The route will be the Kings Bowl Loop or something similar with very little elevation gain, but 100% unpaved and rough terrain consisting of 4×4 roads and trails. Offshoot exploration is encouraged! Lots of cool stuff to explore around here.
After the ride, head home at your leisure, or stay and camp another night on your own.

Alex was one of us, could’ve been any of us, so as we mourn, all of us can come together in unity to remember Alex for what he was. A kind and caring soul put on this earth to be the light for others. Although his light has been extinguished by this fascist regime, it hasn’t been lost. If anything, those sparks fell and ignited something in us that’s been hiding all along. We are stronger together, and they can’t take us all. We’ve gathered together a community of cyclists to remember Alex Pretti. Please join in, near or far this Saturday, 1/31 1:00 PM Central Time
-
We’re asking folks to host rides and come together. Bike shops and non-profits, cycling orgs and alt cycling collectives, city and rural. We are many but we stand together as one.

If you’d like to join in and gather folks together, please print the flyer and tag us on social media so we can share where your ride will take place. Files attached are courtesy of Casey Robertson of Robertson Design aka @champagne_rodman

The 200k distance course will not be marked and you will need to navigate by GPS or map and compass. The 30K and 60k will be well marked. If you can read a map you will have no problem following the route. You will need to be self-sufficient and carry all your own gear, food, and water, although there will be checkpoints and aid stations.

Wyo 131 Gravel Grinder
WYO131
In our opinion, this is the best gravel course ever created. This rugged course is well known for pushing riders to their limit while carrying them on a journey across a diverse array of Wyoming ecosystems — from the sage brush seas surrounding the Red Desert to the subalpine lakes of the Wind River Range.
This is not a ride for beginners. There will be pain and suffering. There will be rough roads. There will be cut off times. Some people will not finish. You’ll need hard-core gravel and endurance experience before taking on this route. There are several crew accessible bail-points and a shuttle.
There are 4 routes available to ride at WYO 131": 131 miles, 75 miles, 45 miles, and 12 miles. For more info on this event, please click the link below.

In classic fashion, this race has a timed uphill section (climbing Grove) and a timed downhill section (descending Drake). Ride both segments yourself, or team up with a friend an each tackle one. Whichever format you choose, get excited! There’s a reason people complained when the Mullet didn’t happen last year.
